Name[edit]

Suffice it to say that Rinchan embraced Islam at the hands Of Bulbul Shah and assumed the name of Sultan Sadr-ud-Din, and claims our attention as the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir. Muslim historians write his name Rinchan.[1]

Successor[edit]

Rinchana left behind a son named Haidar who was under the guardianship of Shah Mir, his trusted counsellor. As Haidar was a minor, his mother Kota Rani acted as Regent.... Udayanadeva was, however, cowardly and incompetent, and it was really Kota Rani who was the virtual ruler.[1]
