Poor English comprehension?

The article suggests that it was due to her poor English comprehension that she misunderstood the situation regarding Miss Phillipines, though she graduated from high school in Canada and made this grammatically perfect English response to a question by judges: "I learned how to always be happy, to be patient and to be positive, and this is what I want to teach to the next generation." Something doesn't seem right. --Bentonia School 03:28, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually that response was given in Japanese, and the 'quote' there is a paraphrasing (if memory serves?) of her interpreter's translation. Nevertheless, her English seems pretty darn serviceable, as seen in the video interview on the Miss Universe website. 76.29.2.23 02:56, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

"small town of Shizuoka"

According to the article Shizuoka, Shizuoka, it is a city of 700,000 people! Something seems not quite right here. --192.68.228.4 22:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

We can call Shizuoka a small town if we're prepared to call San Francisco a small town. 76.29.2.23 02:20, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Given the landmass of Japan compared to its population and general large city centres, 700,000 people is small. I've been to Shizuoka and it is comaparatively smaller than other Japanese cities - ie, Tokyo & Osaka. --Bentonia School 03:23, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, in that case Tokyo is to New York, as Shizuoka is to Cleveland. But in any case someone removed the "small town" bit from the article. 76.29.2.23 03:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Image deletion

Nobody really seems to get the idea that the image removal needs to be discussed here, so I will do it. User:Neier has most recently removed the image "Per the deletion notice at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Riyo_Mori.jpg the image should be removed from all wikimedia projects until its status is clarified", and has thus far been the only editor to explain why the image has continually been removed.
