Rizal Shrine, Calamba → Rizal Shrine – The Rizal (Mercado) Family ancestral house in Calamba is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the term Rizal Shrine. The Rizal shrines in Intramuros (Manila) and Dapitan are just memorials to the Philippine national hero. Relisted. Comment. I don't quite agree that the replica ancestral house in Calamba is the primary topic. The Dapitan and the Fort Santiago shrines/memorials are as equally notable. Maybe we should first determine the common names or official names of all of these places. - I think they are all called Rizal Shrine. At least the NHCP in its website refers to them as Rizal Shrine Fort Santiago, Rizal Shrine Dapitan and Rizal Shrine Calamba. But seeing the top google results and images for "Rizal Shrine" and reviewing my HEKASI notes from grade school, the Rizal house in Calamba really is the "Rizal Shrine" that most Filipinos know about. Also, historical shrines have long been associated with the patriots' birthplaces and ancestral houses following these other examples: Aguinaldo Shrine in Cavite, Del Pilar Shrine in Bulacan, Juan Luna Shrine in Ilocos Norte, Apolinario Mabini Shrine in Batangas, and even the Tandang Sora Shrine in Quezon City.--RioHondo (talk) 05:52, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  - The top Google search result for me is a link to the Google Map view for Fort Santiago. The top organic link is to Rizal Shrine, Intramuros (aka in Fort Santiago). But since Google results may vary if you are logged in, I used the DuckDuckGo search engine. Here, the top result is also to Rizal Shrine, Intramuros, while the rest of the results is a mixture of all three places. Based on search engine results alone, I don't think there is a primary topic. Note that WP:PRIMARYTOPIC states that for a given term (like "Rizal Shrine") a target topic (aka, the Calamba shrine) must be highly likely—much more likely than any other topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term.     - I remember Samar had its top google results as well pointing to the province following WP with the map and all, before we corrected it and moved the primarytopic to the island of course. TBH, i think google merely copies WP as for the longest time, the only Rizal Shrine article here is that of Intramuros. Give it a few more years and Mabini Shrine, Manila would be the primarytopic and top google result for "Mabini Shrine" trumping the Mabini Shrine that we all know, the hero's birthplace in Tanauan, Batangas. :)--RioHondo (talk) 06:10, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Whether we like it or not, the Intramuros memorial is the most popular "Rizal Shrine" there is. This is quite unlike the Aguinaldo Shrine which was Emilio Aguinaldo's actual house. –H T D 14:40, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    - Yep, my basic "Civics and Culture" teacher taught me Rizal was imprisoned in the Rizal Shrine in Intramuros. Rizal's house in Calamba was called as "Rizal's house" or the "Mercado family home" or something to that effect. –H T D 13:02, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    - P.S. Mabini and other shrines: It seems that for other "heroes", their most popular "Shrine" is their birth home. This isn't in Rizal's case. When Rizal's house was painted green in 2010, the news mostly called it "Rizal's house", a few called it "Rizal Shrine in Calamba". I didn't see a news source that called it "Rizal Shrine" without qualification. –H T D 13:11, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
