How is this nonsense? The Journey (band) page indicates that Robert Fleischman was the band's lead singer. Pburka 03:25, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your continuing contribution. You seem to be editing in good faith, and you seem to have a lot of information about Robert Fleischman to add to the page. Please continue to do so. However, please consider the following suggestions:

1. Use a neutral point of view (NPOV). Some of your edits, especially pertaining to Fleischman's leave-taking from Journey, seem designed to promote Fleischman and defend the singer from the criticism leveled by Herbie Herbert and official Journey publications like the Time (Cubed) insert. While many of us (myself included) may share your opinion that Fleischman got a raw deal, the opinion cannot be presented as fact; the closest we can come to that is presenting both sides and noting the controversy.

2. No more than one wikilink to Journey in the text, please.

3. Use "Fleischman" instead of "Robert" when referring to the singer by only one name.

4. Please ensure that everything you reference is actually in the reference. The ref for his "phantom" comment did not include mention of any such statement.

5. Consider the length of the article when adding a new story. If this were a longer biography of Fleischman, the appearance at the Hollywood Walk of Fame would merit a paragraph of text. But this is (currently, anyway) a very brief bio on the singer; the story merits much shorter mention, and, in my opinion, only as a reference for the statement that he continues to enjoy a good relationship with the Journey band members.

6. Lastly, consider creating a user name on Wikipedia, if only so that all of your edits appear to be written by the same person rather than several different anonymous IP addresses. That will also help you as the screws tighten on the Wikipedia policy on biographies of living persons, because people using anonymous IP addresses will have increasing difficulty making such edits. You do not have to use your name as I do.

English-language singers[edit]

We do not in general categorize people by the language they sang in if it is the primary language of their country of origin. Thus we will only place American singers in language categories other than English. This is in part because even a singer such as Salena, who sang many of her most popular songs in Spanish, also sang in English. The English-language singers would just become an oversized overcategorization of American-singers, English-singers and some other such nationalities if it was not for this rule.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:21, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
