Can someone source this bit: "Supposedly, Barbara Bush told her husband George Bush that he should choose Dan Quayle as a running mate because he looked like Redford. Redford then began some speeches by saying, "Hello. I'm Dan Quayle." However, Redford resented the equation as he and the former Vice President are on the opposite sides of the political spectrum."? Eponymous dessert dish

I've heard once or twice a reference to Robert Redford pie or cake, which is a cheesecake/CoolWhip® mix in a crust made with chopped nuts and topped with pudding (see, for example, a recipe here). What is the connection with him? Did he make one in a movie? Thanks. knoodelhed (talk) 00:55, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Interview

Anthem, An American Road Story: there is a segment in this film concerning the States, and reference to dormant political agenda, if that defines anything, and profound revelations for those who want to see. Themes greatly appreciated. peace75.248.114.26 (talk) 15:08, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Anthem

After viewing, "Anthem, An American Road Story", noticed my actions becomming more or less radical. Is that a good thing? In Great Waldo Pepper, Kessler scenes reminds some of "get the bad guy" attitude *)75.250.212.136 (talk) 02:05, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Request: Dalai Lama

Peace is Every Step. There is candid interview with Mr. Redford, in film, Anthem, An American Road Story, that is very revealing, and also Native American which displays a type of "Magic" with a Falcon, Hawk, or Eagle. Is there a secret language in English?75.200.89.205 (talk) 22:31, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Films in lede

Are all of the films mentioned in the lede significant and notable? These should be pared down to 5 or 6 that are most important in his dual careers as actor and director. ---RepublicanJacobiteTheFortyFive 14:34, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

re: political activity

"Lacking integrity, Redford endorsed President Obama's re-election campaign in 2012." this is a judgemental statement. the whole last part on president obama is irritating as it does not reflect the contents of the two mentioned articles. yes, he is critical but he is also supportive in both. so why does that make him "lacking integrity" and since when is it permissible in an encyclopedic article to cast a judgment? i am taking the liberty to erase this part until a credible source, stating that redford is "lacking integrity", can be included.--96.63.2.129 (talk) 22:26, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Redford went beyond politics to action in helping negotiate between developers and environmentalists. He would invite both parties (or all interested parties) to a meeting and they would attend because he was inviting them. Negotiations followed that mitigated some environmental impacts. He established the Center for Resource Management (based in Denver, CO) to carry out this work and eventually he did not actually do the inviting or attend, but the Center was able to continue the work, e.g., help Walmart build more environmentally-friendly stores, and help golf courses be less environmentally damaging, among other such negotiations. This is a side of Redford that is not well-known and deserves more attention in the Redford page. By chance, when he was on his way home to Utah from a directors' meeting in San Francisco of a non-profit he started, I sat next to him on a commercial flight airplane, and he told me he had just published an OpEd in the NYT on climate change. He is a doer, not just a talker; making a difference for the environment, film, and politics.93.71.59.159 (talk) 22:27, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Hal Levin 20:26 UTC 11 January 2016.

Earth: One Amazing Day

Robert Redford narrated a wildlife documentary on BBC Two called "Earth: One Amazing Day". This could go in the section on his television career. Vorbee (talk) 20:49, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
