Is there any reason these are being removed? A reputable source, by and large. Anmccaff (talk) 15:10, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish Renaissance, Robert Louis Stevenson[edit]

Stevenson is part of the larger epic of Scotland's great era of philosophy, invention and migration to America, where a dozen Presidents had Scottish names. Genius ran in the family. His grandson was the great author, one of the most translated in the world. Either Treasure Island or Jekyll and Hyde would have guaranteed his rank on its own. Disputed - reference to Joseph Stevenson (1802-1878)[edit]

There is no record that Robert Stevenson (engineer) had a son named Joseph. The Joseph Stevenson who emigrated to Australia was the son of William Stevenson, as recorded by his descendants. While it is thought there is a relationship to Robert Stevenson, it has not yet been shown (August 2020) AndiJoan (talk) 23:53, 18 August 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by AndiJoan (talkcontribs) 23:36, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with @AndiJoan:. Bella Bathurst's definitive biography makes no mention of a Joseph Stevenson. Robert's only sons were David, Allan and Thomas. Mike Marchmont (talk) 13:35, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
