Breeder?[edit]

Would like to find more details on who bred him- probably Brewer, but one source mentions a "Mr Barclay". Also, where was Blanton's stable? Robert (his name was often abbreviated thus) emerged from a pretty shadowy corner of the racing world.Tigerboy1966 (talk) 12:34, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stud Book lists C. Brewer as his breeder [1]. A.C. Barclay was the owner of his sire, Bertram. Charles Blanton was from Newmarket, so his stable might have been there [2]. Froggerlaura (talk) 02:48, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, Upper Station Road, Newmarket [3]. Froggerlaura (talk) 02:50, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Your research skills are much appreciated.Tigerboy1966 (talk) 04:29, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing win[edit]

This source [4] says 11 wins in 15 starts. So I'm missing one. Maybe a walkover. Check Newmarket Spring meeting. Tigerboy1966 (talk) 00:58, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand.(I'm sorry my poor English.)[edit]

  • Typo?
  • "to join the leader in the closing strages"
  • maybe "to join the leader in the closing stages"
  • "and was trained by Charles Blanton[6]"
