Date Of Birth[edit]

There seams to be a problem with the date of Ayala's birth: even though all sources indicate he was born on April 1973, some say it was on the 12, and others on the 14th. I tryed to get all the reliable sources I could, and found out only these:

Silly reversions[edit]

An anonymous user (I'm a registered user, but can't log in right now) keeps adding a comment in Portuguese about Ayala's own goal in the Copa America final on Sunday. I have twice removed it on the grounds that a) the incident is discussed in the article already, and b) IT'S IN THE WRONG LANGUAGE. Additionally, I have also twice changed a comment on how Ayala scored an "own goal against Brazil", which makes it sound like the goal counted against Brazil, rather than Ayala scoring the goal while playing against Brazil". I know it's nitpicky, but so is reverting it.

Pronounciation of Ayala's name[edit]

It'd be nice if a nice Argentinian adds the way his name is pronounced. I've heard it's pronounce Ajala but don't know for sure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yonatanh (talk • contribs)

In Argentina, Ayala's surname is usually pronounced Ashala (Ašala), specially in the Rioplatense Spanish dialect. Aiala might be heard in the Northern part of the country, and even Azhala could be used by some more snobish ones. Mariano(t/c) 08:50, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Roberto or Fabián[edit]

It is common knowledge that Ayala really doesn't like being called "Roberto", he always addresses himself via his middle name of Fabián, and most Spanish-language papers (ie those that know better) will refer to him as "Fabián Ayala" rather than "Roberto Ayala". Although I have seen a lot of papers spell it out in full, ie "Roberto Fabián Ayala". Can I suggest therefore that the main article be either Fabián Ayala or Roberto Fabián Ayala and that Roberto Ayala be diverted to the correctly titled page?
