Untitled[edit]

NOTE to readers: Robin Ward and Jackie Ward (with an "ie", not "y" as in the country singer's name) are one and the same person. Jackie Ward redirects to this page; while it can be argued that it should be the main article instead, most people 40 years old and older would be more likely to remember her as Robin Ward as the singer of "A Wonderful Summer." This, plus the AfD of a previous incarnation of this article, prompted in this current redirect setup. Any additional information on her would be most appreciated, especially in her session recording work prior to "A Wonderful Summer."

Star Trek Theme credit[edit]

I don't see a reference for this sentence: "Possibly her most memorable performance is the eerie solo soprano on the original Star Trek theme." Other Wikipedia pages credit coloratura soprano Loulie Jean Norman. (See "Theme from Star Trek" and "Loulie Jean Norman," and other sources such as IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0635560/bio).

Unless there is a source I suggest the sentence be deleted.

I should have read the talk page first; I just deleted it for the same reason. Horologium (talk) 17:00, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Year/date of birth[edit]

There are numerous conflicting reports of her date of birth. This article has both 1941 and 1934 as year of birth. Other Internet sources appear to be using both dates, and this site as a source. Trying to line up events in her life with other verifiable (or checkable) events yields more confusion. Bandstand Revue (listed as "Bandstand Review" in the IMDB) started in 1949 (per IMDB), but IMDB lists no episodes and is a very thin/sketchy source. This article says she was 13 at the time, which suggests a year of birth of 1936. But other online sources have the show starting in 1954 or 1955, which would be consistent with a 1941 year of birth. An online interview with Robin Ward (as Jackie Ward, http://www.cmongethappy.com/interviews/jw/index.html) has her saying she was a senior (assume high school) when she *auditioned* for Bandstand Revue which would give a year of birth of 1937. However, if she finished her 4 years with Bandstand Revue in 1958 as a senior, a year of birth of 1941 fits.

This site has her at age 21 in 1962. https://kimsloans.wordpress.com/118969-2/ This also fits with a 1941 year of birth.

Bottom line, there is no clear authoritative source for her year of birth, although 1941 seems most likely. I believe that is sufficient for changing the 1934 in the article to 1941, which I will do, but will indicate a source is needed. FaithHopeLoveTruth (talk) 03:56, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
