Artist's Death[edit]

Information about the artist's death has been removed, what type of sources would be considered creditable? Because It has be announced by more than one person on twitter, including World Con, however it is my understanding that tweets are not considered creditable sources -- Kingstoken (talk) 20:54, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:RS for deets. Basically: word of mouth, "I heard the news that...", "passing on the news...", tweets, Facebook posts, etc. are off the table. A reliable news source (online or published) or published obituary is always accepted.Guinness323 (talk) 21:20, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There's also this, although not sure if blogs are any more reliable than tweets... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.41.30.52 (talk) 00:29, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As an unsigned blog, it is probably not RS, and the news is also of the "we heard it from ______" variety. It is early days yet -- often RS obituaries are not posted for several days or even weeks.Guinness323 (talk) 01:53, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It was announced by fellow artists and friends too, but Facebook necrologies or any social media posts cannot be used as a source.

She was a small artist with small following, if there will be any news, doubtful, but it will also only cite social media posts. Goblincap (talk) 23:45, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe so, but honestly even if something is posted by her husband on her own webpage or blog, I think that should be enough. Facebook is a bit more problematic, but I think we can use it if is comes from her own official source. BOZ (talk) 00:37, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note - I've added 2 RS on Wood's death: ICv2 [1] & ComicBook.com [2] Sariel Xilo (talk) 20:35, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
