Global Crossing North America → Rochester Telephone Company (NY) — More notable as Rochester Telephone Corporation founded in 1877 vs Global Crossing North America which only existed during 2000-2001. Proposing Rochester Telephone Company (NY) to differentiate from Rochester Telephone Company (IN). --Ajh1492 (talk) 23:28, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support, this does appear to be primarily about Rochester Tel, though most of that company's legacy lives on as Frontier Communications; the modern organization known as Global Crossing NA bears little relation to Rochester Tel. Powers ^T 23:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rochester Telephone (New York) → Rochester Telephone Corporation – The only other sensible destination for the title Rochester Telephone is Frontier Telephone of Rochester. As both companies were based in New York state, (New York) is not a useful disambiguator. Certes (talk) 14:27, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support move, and merge the short article about Frontier Telephone of Rochester into this one. A wider merge with Frontier Communications would be too confusing, given the convoluted corporate history, mergers and ownership changes. However, both article should be clarified and scoped appropriately. In particular, the extensive list of Frontier subsidiaries looks off-topic in this article if we limit its scope to the historical Rochester Telephone Corporation. — JFG ^talk 15:10, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
