Neoconservative?[edit]

As there are similarities between his viewpoints and those of neocons, I wonder if he shouldn't be described as a neocon. Then the attitudes he calls "designer tribalism", I would simply call multiculturalism.

If there were only similarities, then the answer is no. After all, one can find similarities between certain views of Bill Clinton and Bill Kristol, or (to use a more striking example) Pat Buchanan and Norman Podhoretz, but that doesn't make either Bill Clinton or Buchanan neocons.
