I think this is a good article that, based on the significance and popularity of the subject, has the potential to be a GREAT article.

I'm going to tighten up some of the copy, perhaps elucidate some technical terms.

Here's what I'd like some assistance on:

This article deserves at least one picture. I'm not yet proficient enough at WikiP editing to acquire and insert a picture. Suffice to say, there has got to be a truckload of highly illustrative pictures (probably mostly promo-use pics courtesy of Roland, also some pics of V-drum kits in use by famous artists). V Drums deserve to be SEEN as well as heard. : )

The Hi-hat section is not totally correct. The hi-hat described is the vh-12, supported only by td-20 and td-12, while the td-9 mudule only support the vh-11 (not included in the td-9 drum kit) which does only have one rubber plate that uses a normale hi-hat stand (so if feels like a normal mechanic hi-hat, but not as much as the vh-12)

Reads like an advertisement[edit]

Some parts of the article read like a Roland advertisement. I have used the V-Drums, and I can confirm that what is said in the article is true, but some parts seem like an advertisement.

Thoughts?

It might have been cleaned up some. There's still a stray sentence here or there. This article would be much more complete if the various features were mentioned in context of how they compare to competitors' features, and if there were more discussion of how these fit into the industry as a whole. It's as though the article ignores that there are any other electronic drums at all, and that's a subtle NPOV issue. Also, there just have to be more references, and they have to come from places other than Roland literature. There are a lot of articles in magazines such as Modern Drummer that would make good sources. Dementia13 (talk) 04:08, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

TD-6[edit]

The TD-6 is listed in both the "High-end V-Drum Kits" and "Less Expensive V-Drum Kits".

Drum Modules > TD-1: Inputs Incorrect[edit]

Not sure if this is the correct way to discuss, but instead of just editing details of one module (& ignoring others), I thought I'd first ask here:

The TD-1 is specified as having *9* inputs, although it has 10. The kick is specified separately for some modules ("n (+ Kick)"); I'm sure there's a reason to specify it separately, but I wonder why? Should the same be done for the TD-1?

The inputs are as follows:

nine are used out-of-the-box in the TD-1K(V) drum kits that are sold as sets
one additional stereo (I believe it's a piezo/switch as it is for another cymbal)

which are of the following types:

5 mono
- tom 1
- tom 2
- tom 3
- hi-hat pedal
- kick-drum pedal
4 stereo (piezo/switch - I only assume, as that's what's currently specified on this page, didn't confirm the exact stereo type)
- cymbal 1 (crash)
- cymbal 2 (ride)
- cymbal 3 (optional crash)
- hi-hat
1 stereo (piezo/piezo - I only assume, as that's what's currently specified on this page, didn't confirm the exact stereo type)
- snare

Major Edits[edit]

I see the info for modules has been readded which is great. This page has always been a concise clearinghouse for Roland product info. I followed @Escher 2Escher2 and read logs. I see where protection was requested (and denied) for this article. I think protection would be appropriate since what was removed was relevant information, not promoting Roland and, hence, it's not a catalog of Roland products. Can I get the same info from Roland's website, sure but it would take me more time than I have to assimilate it. I can do without these destructive edits.
