Fashionable suburb[edit]

Try "snobby"? ;-) The opening sentence with the word "fashionable" is one of the few parts of the article I didn't write... as with anything on Wikipedia, if you don't like it, you can change it. I agree, it's not exactly an encyclopedic word. Zaian 09:56, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just had to sort that out! To whoever inserted the "fashionable" bit, sorry for "down-grading" your suburb:-p I'm sure most Capetonians would agree with me that Greenpoint, more specifically Die Waterkant would better meet the description "fashionable" than Rondebosch. As you said, "fashionable" isn't an encyclopedic word... it's more a matter of opinion; Observatory could be described as "fashionable" by some people. If you're looking for a suitable adjective for Rondebosch, I think "student" suburb would be fair, given the relatively high density of students in the suburb.

Westerford Highschool in Rondebosch[edit]

Yes, according to my street map Rondebosch runs as far as Dean Street along the Main Road, but SACS is definitely in Newlands. Zaian 14:33, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Westerford High School website clearly states that it is located in Rondebosch although a part of it, the playing fields of Imhof are located in Newlands and the school boarders the suburb.--Discott (talk) 12:11, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Rondebosch/Newlands boundary in the relevant area runs (according to the city council) along Alcis Road and Dean Street, and then along Main Road as far as Arbor Road. Which places Westerford School proper in Rondebosch, but Westerford's Imhoff Sports Grounds along with SACS in Newlands.
