If, as you suggest, Whitehouse described this show as "politically incorrect" (extremely unlikely, given the provenance of that phrase, Whitehouse's personality and methods, and the show itself, then you're going to need a citation. Whitehouse didn't care about celebrity impersonations or politics, she campaigned against smut and violence, almost exclusively. -- GWO

Found a link in Google which is a site describing it as being removed for being politically incorrect, but of course the site is offline! [1]: "Round The Bend : Puppet mayhem with Doc Croc. Eventually to be taken off by Mary Whitehouse for not being politically correct. Pah! ... "

Shame the site doesn't exist in google's cache either... however this seems to be a mirror of it: [2]

A discussion site which mentions it being scrapped due to political incorrectness: [3] I guess this doesn't count as being a good source though.

I also remember an old issue of SFX mentioning it - which is where I first found out why it was scrapped.

Even if we accept that it was the violence and not the toilet-obsession, that's still not what most people would term political correctness. -- GWO

Nevile Shute[edit]

Shute wrote a book called Round the Bend, the Nevile Shute page links to this page - yet this page is about a kids TV show and not about the book.

Three options then:

Point the interwiki away from this page, as it's obviously nothing to do with Nevile Shute (I don't have a clue who he even is).
Create a new article for the book if necessary.
Remove the interwiki link entirely from the Nevile Shute page.

Perhaps someone could add this... They also had a parody of the Care bears called the Couldn't care less bears..

The one when Vince was up in space broadcasting his jokes to every radio, satellite and TV sation!!!. "What do hedgehogs like to eat with their cheese?, PRICKLED ONIONS!!!". "There was one in other programe that went "Which animal is the wettest?, RAIN-deer!!!". So bad they were hillarious!!!.

And Vince moaning in the satellite that he didn't want to go up into space, only for Doc to say things like "Tears of joy!", "Bless his cotton socks!, he can't believe his luck!"

David Colemole[edit]

Although his name is obviously a play on fellow sportscaster David Coleman, I have to disagree that their voices sound anything like each other. Colemole's voice appears to me to be an impersonation of weatherman Ian McCaskill, who he also looks like. Beanhead McGinty 10:30, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
