Untitled[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if we should maybe add a thing about the fireworks display every year? (Tonight's was great!) -- Arkracer GMT 21:38 03 November 2006

I have added photographs. How is it looking now? Chemical Engineer 16:33, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blondin at Waterloo Lake[edit]

While the claim has been made that Blondin crossed the lake in 1896, I doubt it. The Leeds Mercury reported his feats elsewhere, but did not mention him appearing in Leeds. It did report that the Leeds Workpeople Hospital Fund Committee planned to have Blondin as the chief attraction in their August Bank Holiday Gala at the park (16 April 1896). However, he is not mentioned in the report of the gala (5 August 1896), which would be surprising for the chief attraction. I suppose that the plans did not come to fruition. Hi, ChemEng: it's such a lovely colourful connection, why not add it back in with the two references? It's interesting to know he was planned to come to Leeds even if it fell through! PamD (talk) 22:43, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess this might be considered original research and not exactly a fact about the Park. Maybe there is some evidence that he actually did, and there was some reason for his not being mentioned. Chemical Engineer (talk) 16:32, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New pages[edit]

I think Tropical World and Waterloo Lake warrant their own pages. The short summary of them should be retained on this page but an in-depth page about them would be good. Does anyone know where any information about the park and such might be found? Mtaylor848 (talk) 14:01, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest seeing if the Visitor Centre has any books, and Moor Allerton Library. There are books about the park.Chemical Engineer (talk) 17:20, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Features > Arena > Level 42, and Cast[edit]

Although Level 42, and Cast are mentioned in the Features > Arena section, there's no mention of them in the 'List of concerts' table. Were they headline acts, support, or part of a Music Festival? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 09:49, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially false first citation?[edit]

The claim is made at the top of this article that "Roundhay park... is one of the biggest city parks in Europe" with the citation reading "Only Richmond Park (London), Phoenix Park (Dublin) and Silesian Culture and Recreation Park (Chorzów, Poland) are larger.". There is no actual citation here and other articles on wikipedia (such as List of urban parks by size) list numerous other European 'urban' parks that are larger. This claim should be properly sourced and corrected. 2A02:C7C:AD00:D800:71B0:FECC:1C5C:7115 (talk) 23:24, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
