It likely comes from the tradition of piano players in New Orleans brothels being called professor. Probably had little to do with Roy’s college education, but I wasn’t there, so cannot guarantee accuracy 2600:1700:5820:3940:603D:97D1:64BF:E27D (talk) 15:35, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
