The result of the move request was: Move to remove comma. Fences&Windows 18:32, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

– Shall we retain or omit the commas for those father and son? George Ho (talk) 05:15, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Lame – George, why not just do the moves? You know the answer already. Dicklyon (talk) 05:48, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Um... I switched the names back and forth. Let's wait for other people's opinions please. George Ho (talk) 05:51, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per MOS:JR and WP:CONCISE. This is routine now, and can be speedied as noncontroversial.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  07:17, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support and as per DicklyonUser:SMcCandlish no need for RM now we finally have a stable MOS on this. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:35, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – No reason for not following the guidance at MOS:JR established by the recent RfC. RGloucester 13:30, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - WP:JR - "The comma can be used in cases where it is clearly and consistently preferred for a particular subject in current, reliable sources (most likely a living subject whose own preference is clear and consistent)." No such situation has been asserted at these articles. Like the hundreds of articles that have already been moved without discussion, these should have been moved without discussion. At any of these articles, anyone is free to start an RM to re-add the comma, with the required case for it per the guideline. We do not need to ask this question at every article that has the comma, and we don't need this kind of RM. ―Mandruss  22:57, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – As the creator of both articles, I thought it would be a good idea to take a sample of the references in each case, since a large majority of sources preferring the comma can apparently make a difference in whether the guideline should be enforced. Out of 4 sources I checked for each Simmons, 3 did not use the comma for the younger Simmons, while there was a 2–2 split for the older Simmons. In my judgment, nothing I saw leads me to believe that the guidance should not be followed here. Giants2008 (Talk) 01:37, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
