Repository for duffers[edit]

there's nothing here to reflect the fact that the Army used the pioneer corps for those recruits who were so hopeless, even the infantry wouldn't have them. It might be apocryphal, but it was certainly part of the Army mythology if no more. Could someone who's has a source add something?

No article on Labour Corps?[edit]

Following on from the strange comment above, I believe the Labour Corps was the destination for soldiers wounded or otherwise rendered unfit for further active duty in their regiment (example: my grandfather, formerly 19th Manchesters, wounded May 1916), but there is no WP article that seems to cover this, or at least I can't find one. The link just goes to a disambiguation page. Can anyone clarify? Tony Holkham (talk) 23:49, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

HQ/Garrison - wasn't it at Northampton?[edit]

According to the info box it was located at Cuddington Heath, Cheshire, but the article on the latter gives no mention and the place seems too remote and rural. I thought the Pioneers were headquartered in Northampton. Which is correct?Cloptonson (talk) 20:38, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: ..the membership of the "dubbed"[edit]

Who exactly is meant here?: "These men - often dubbed "The King's Most Loyal Enemy Aliens" - later moved on to serve in fighting units. Some were recruited by Special Operations Executive (S.O.E.) as secret agents. ...". [#'Recruitment' (a/o 02 April)].

Were Adam, Clare, and Maxwell the only 'men' who were: "... dubbed "The King's Most Loyal Enemy Aliens" - ..."? That is, were only these three men marked with that honorific? And did any one of these particular men (Adam, Clare, Maxwell) go on to serve in the SOE? (IMO, and reading the links: NOT! to both questions.)

I surmise that the membership of the "dubbed" was much broader than the three mentioned; and that the logically correct interpretation should be drawn, clearly and broadly, as here: "... members of Pioneer Corps—often dubbed "The King's Most Loyal Enemy Aliens"— ...". This phrase resonates with the contexts of both article and section. Does anyone know a source that verifies a more narrow factual? Pls advise. //Jbeans (talk) 20:44, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
