A player named J. Butterworth won a cap for England in 1905 against Other Nationalities while at Runcorn RFC, according to FreeBMD 1147-people named J. Butterworth (including women) were born in Cheshire/Lancashire between 1890 and 1865, i.e. consistent with a circa-1905 playing career, making it nearly impossible to determine their identity via these means.
