The Rutherglen wine area is a distinct wine region of Victoria, and is delineated on the map in the Concise World Atlas of Wine, by Johnson and Robinson (P 294). I don't see why Rutherglen (wine) article shouldn't be merged with this article, but as it is a wine region, the wine related headings should remain. Demiparure 21:25, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Authenticity check: A search reveals that the phrase "regarded by many" appears in the text. Is the phrase a symptom of a dubious statement? Could a source be quoted instead? Perhaps the "many" could be identified? Might text be edited to more genuinely reflect specific facts?

I have added specific sources to establish the substance of the statement, and have changed "regarded by many" to attribute to specific people with expertise in the field (two influential wine critics - one Australian, one Anerican). Appropriate links are provided in the References section for verifiability.--Takver 08:54, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
