I wonder if Rydal would be better classified as a "village" rather than a "town". If so the "Village" subcategory would need to be created for proper "Template:Infobox Australian place | type = village …" rendering.

The same would hold for Tarana. While both these villages have a pub, railway station, rural fire service and church(es), neither have shops, town hall or other community resources. As such it seems inappropriate to classify them as towns. -- gtsWiki talk 03:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You would be best placed to raise discussion of this issue at Template talk:Infobox Australian place and Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board, where you will find more people who watch those pages. My own opinion is that while I take your point, the issue of how we define a "town" as opposed to a "village" would be fraught with difficulty and likely breach one of Wikipedia's core policies, WP:No original research. -- Cheers, Mattinbgn\talk 03:47, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I have started this discussion as suggested. -- gtsWiki talk 08:04, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
