Lyrics[edit]

Someone deleted the lyrics because "we don't lyrics." Who is "we," and since when do we not explain the lyrics of a folk song from another country that is NOT in English? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kogejoe (talk • contribs) 01:14, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not against lyrics in Wikipedia, if they're correct. Where did these lyrics come from? They're nothing like any Soran Bushi lyrics I've ever heard before, and they're very different from even the Japanese version of this page. Compared to the Japanese version, the first line is new, and then comes the fourth line, and then the end of the second line -- it's all funny. I'm not saying there isn't a version of Soran Bushi that sounds like this, but at the least we need a citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.160.239.6 (talk) 01:32, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted edit[edit]

In a previous edit, someone translated "sōran, sōran, sōran" as "lader, lader [sic], climb climb". I've reverted this because to the best of my knowledge, the word sōran has nothing to do with ladders or climbing.

From the Japanese version of this page:

曲名の由来となった「ソーラン　ソーラン」という囃し言葉は、網のニシンを巨大なタモ網で汲み出す際の掛け声が元になっており、本来は特に意味の無い物であった。

(translation) The cries of "sōran, sōran" from which the song gets its name originate from the calls of fishermen as they empty out the herring from their fishing nets, and originally had no particular meaning. (my emphasis)

Are we gonna mention Kaguya-sama?[edit]

I figured it's such a common japanese thing, but when I googled 'Sōran Bushi anime', many of the 1st page results were Kaguya-sama. Thewriter006 (talk) 15:24, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
