I recall his stand in Centrepoint Tower being named "S. John Ross" and he would explain that the "S" stood for "Scissors". He was known around Sydney as "Scissors John". The "Show Legends" link no longer works and I can't find it anywhere else. Wikiain (talk) 23:40, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The birth date has been switching back and forth between 24 and and 25 April, without anybody giving a reason. The sources in the article are contradictory. Dunn gives 25 April and says that he was assisted by Philip Ross. Clifford-Smith gives 24 April (but had previously given 25 August instead of 24 August as the death date) and mentions Philip Ross as John's son. Philip or another relative: can you help? Thanks, Wikian! I noticed the changed, reversed it and then checked one of the sources and thought it was correct.
