This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Shahbazkhurja (talk) 17:57, 10 March 2014 (UTC) SM Khan is a senior Indian Information Service officer, has been appointed as the Director General of Doordarshan News.
Khan, a 1982-batch IIS officer, had a long innings with Central Bureau of Investigation, India's premier investigation agency as its spokesperson and Press Secretary to then President A P J Abdul Kalam.
During his nearly 13 years service in CBI, he was the face of the premier investigating agency which at that time had been handling several high-profile cases, including Harshad Mehta finance scam, Rajiv Gandhi assassination besides others.
Khan had also served government of India's film division as Director for two years.
Before his new assignment, Khan was serving the Press Information Bureau as a Director General.

He is known for his generous nature and helping people in need.
He also serves on the Board of Trustee, India Islamic Cultural Center.
People like him deserve to be appreciated. He is also seen regularly on TV Channels and covered extensively in the print media.
