Untitled[edit]

I have included a reference to the 'Trade unions of the United Kingdom' to reflect SIPTU's membership in NI: if readers disagree, I'd rather have a discussion here about the pros and cons rather than some kind of edit war. Ta, Paul Hardy

Move back to SIPTU[edit]

Previously I moved this page to it's full name, but have since talked with User:Colour Vision about changing it back. Apparently it is almost exclusively know as SIPTU. Comments?--Bookandcoffee 17:39, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I ran across this page while reading about the Socialist Workers Party (Ireland) and running across the unfamiliar acronym SIPTU (I could see it was a trade union, but nothing more). If you keep the full name, someone outside Ireland can at least tell its general subject at a glance (and not guess that it might stand for something like Staten Island Poly-Technical University, Standard International Photographic Telemetry Unit or Southern Irish Postal & Telegraphic Underground.)
