Untitled[edit]

This text has twice been deleted by anonymous editors:

In 2004, SS/L announced a joint venture with S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia to manufacture and market small satellites [[1], [2] (in Russian))]. As of January 2006, no sales of the joint product have been announced.

It was deleted without explanation both times. The second editor used a Loral-owned IP address. —Fleminra 22:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why this text is being deleted - there are at least 2 Yamal spacecraft launched and on-orbit, which utilize Korolev buses and SS/L provided payload packages. I believe the Yamal is what is being referred to in this sentence. Also deleted in this last edit was a reference to the ISS batteries, for some reason. Saturn V 23:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Yamal-101/102 were ca. 1999, so this was a separate deal. It's hard to find English-language references for the 2004 deal for some reason. —Fleminra 00:18, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3-Axis spin stabilized satellite ???[edit]

Three-axis spin stabilized satellite is an oxymoron. A satellite is either 3-axis stabilized, or Spin-stabilized, but not both. Also, the first 3-axis stabilized communication satellite was built by Fairchild, under contract from NASA: ATS6, and the second and third were the franco-german built Symphonies.Smteacsm1 (talk) 15:18, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

JSC Information Satellite Systems as a competitor?[edit]

At February 20, 2018 21:38, User:Hebrewulf added a supposed reference for JSC Information Satellite Systems being a competitor of SSL. The text at that reference is:

SSL’s competitors were Boeing Satellite Systems, Lockheed Martin, Thales Alenia Space (French), Airbus Defense and Space (French) and JSC Information Satellite Systems (i.e.NPO PM-Russian)

The text in this wiki article is:

SSL’s major competitors are Boeing Satellite Systems, Lockheed Martin, Thales Alenia Space, Airbus Defence and Space and JSC Information Satellite Systems.
