Incorrect name?[edit]

This article appears to bne intended to take up the slack on the ship content at Komagata Maru, which should be renamed Komagata Maru incident. However I'm reasonably certain that "SS" and "Maru" are redundant - "SS" is an American designation, "Maru" is the Japanese equivalent. Same way therecan't be an "SS MV Princess Louise" liner; it only happens that "Maru" follows the shipname, rather than precedes it.Skookum1 (talk) 12:58, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

As noted above, it appears that the proper nomenclature for the ship is "Komagata Maru," not "SS Komagata Maru." (See also Japanese ship naming conventions.) The move requires approval as a "Komagata Maru" page already exists, which redirects back to the "SS Komagata Maru" page. This would eliminate the duplication. Some other pages would have to have references to the SS Komagata Maru deleted, or changed according to whatever the proper practice is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Macman1956 (talkcontribs)
