"Largest cathedral in Archdiocese"[edit]

The article states that "it is the largest Roman Catholic cathedral in the Guangzhou archdiocese", but this strikes me as a nonsensical statement, since there's ordinarily only one cathedral in any diocese or archdiocese. Perhaps the statement should read that it's the largest Roman Catholic church in the Guangzhou archdiocese, but maybe someone else knows better than I. Masonry cathedral[edit]

The cathedral's structure consists mainly of granite blocks. It is one of only four Gothic churches with masonry structure in the world. Another is the world-famous Notre Dame de Paris[2].

1. The second sentence here is obviously untrue. Gothic churches are usually built of stone masonry. All across the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia etc. there are masonry Gothic churches. There are also Neo-Gothic masonry churches right through the Americas, Australia, Asia and Africa.

This information has come from a magazine article. Someone has made a mistake in the translation, perhaps. Perhaps the article should have said that there were only four granite cathedrals. This is not true either, because I can think of five, straight off the top of my head.

So I have deleted that bit.

Cultural Revolution[edit]

There is reference to "A second repair took place after the Cultural Revolution in the 1980s", and to the destruction of stained glass. What destruction was actually wrought during the Cultural Revolution?Royalcourtier (talk) 23:18, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
