Writers needed[edit]

The history section starts off with this:

From 1807 to 1818 Illinois paid the United States Treasury $28,160.25. During the same time Ohio paid $240 and Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri paid nothing.

These states paid the treasury for what?? This reeks of having been cut and pasted from some textbook or other such source by someone whose native language might use the same alphabet as English, but has little else in common. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.193.171.69 (talk) 19:56, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
