Use of the poem[edit]

@Castlemate: The "Use of the poem" section appears to make some statements that are not supported by the references.

  • "Since the centenary of ANZAC in 2014" — The landing at Anzac Cove was in 1915, a centenary is a 100th anniversary, so the centenary was in 2015. (None of the references mention "centenary", "2014" or "2015.)
  • "Since ... 2014 "Salute" has been recited by a member of the NSW Government ..." (and similarly in image caption) So far as I can see, none of the references mention this. Could please quote the sentence that you assert supports this statement, to help me find it. Alternatively, provide another reference that does support the statement.

... and likewise for similar text in Sydney Elliott Napier, added in this edit. Mitch Ames (talk) 07:18, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

.... the 2014 Guide states this and the incorrect reference to Centenary has been removed. Castlemate (talk) 18:11, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please add the 2014 Guide as a reference/citation (ideally with a link to an online copy).
It seems unlikely that the 2014 Guide can support the statement that the poem was recited annually in the years after 2014. Do you have a reference to support the statement that "since 2014 'Salute' has been recited annually..."?

This (and this) is an improvement, but it still cites the 2019 Guide for the 2014 recital. The 2019 Guide does not mention the 2014 recital. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:46, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

.... no but the 2014 guide, which is not available online and which you altered my reference to, does mention it. Castlemate (talk) 22:29, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OK thanks. I see the problem now. When you reverted my edit, you added the 2014 Guide, but I didn't notice that one ref was 2014 and one was 2019 - I read it as two citations for the same document with different pages, which is why I "merged" them, losing the 2014. Sorry about that. I've restored the 2014 Guide here and here.
Was the 2014 Guide also published by the RSL? If so, we should probably add |publisher=Returned Services League to that citation. Mitch Ames (talk) 11:16, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The guide is published each year by the service organisers THE ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE TRUST INC P.O. BOX 126, BELFIELD, N.S.W. 2191 e-mail: info@anzacdaydawnservice.org.au They have seen the difficulty I have been having adding this information on Wikipedia and so are going to put all of the guides from 2014 online so that I can show exactly who has read Salute and when at each Dawn Service. When that is done I will try and list the information and reference it fully. I trust that will then meet the approval of all editors. Castlemate (talk) 06:46, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That would be very useful. Thanks. Mitch Ames (talk) 14:03, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
