This article is written in Philippine English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, realize, center, travelled) and some terms that are used in it (including jeepney and cyberlibel) may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Title[edit]

This article should simply be named San Fernando, Pampanga, seeing that the articles on LA and San Francisco aren't similarly named City of Los Angeles, California and City and County of San Francisco, California. --Pare Mo 12:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, we decided to name our city "City of San Fernando" so as not to confuse with San Fernando City of La Union province in the north. Thanks!

Isn't that the reason why we say "San Fernando, Pampanga", instead of simply "San Fernando", to distinguish it from San Fernando, La Union?

And City of San Fernando, Pampanga is already the official name of the city. San Fernando, Pampanga is the former name of the city but because of it's cityhood last 2001 i think, it was named as City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Actually, as to the name, it's basically City of San Fernando (P). San Fernando City is the other city which is located in La Union province in the north (region 1). That's why we can't only say San Fernando, Pampanga... It might be a bit confusing to the readers... anyway, hope it helps.

Almost all cities in the world are formally and officially named "City of ___" or "___ City". Following this logic, the articles on the Philippines and Italy should be titled Republic of the Philippines and Italian Republic. It's simply overkill. --Pare Mo 16:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This request is made after preliminary discussions for the removal of the word "city" from most of the article titles of Philippine cities and providing disambiguation wherever necessary. Some disambiguation may involve using the <cityname>, <provincename> format, regardless if it is highly urbanized, independent or component cities. In here, <provincename> purports to describe the general area and not necessary as the mother political unit of the city, since some people might have wrongly believed that this naming convention is exclusively for Philippine towns only. Data on hospitals in the City of San Fernando[edit]

I was just wondering why no account on the many hospitals and clinics that are situated in the city. The Rural Health Units, comparable to private clinics now totaling five with RHU 5 recently opened, with a corresponding Lying-in clinic the 3rd in the city. Aside from the government operated Jose B Lingad and Rodriguez, we have Makabali, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Mt. Carmel and San Fernandino.
