I feel as if I should review this, as there are many Eurovision nominees pending currently and I haven't reviewed any articles for days. --K. Peake 18:13, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! I've been on a bit of a writing rally this past week and have been feeling pretty motivated. Grk1011 (talk) 19:14, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Grk1011 Nothing better to get your motivation level up than someone delivering a review! --K. Peake 21:04, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead[edit]

  • Infobox looks good!
  • "officially confirmed San Marino's second participation in the annual contest" → "confirmed the country's second participation in the contest"
  • "to represent the nation with" → "to represent San Marino with"
  • "throughout Europe, and interviews" → "throughout Europe and an interview"
  • Target grand final to Eurovision Song Contest 2011#Grand_final

Background[edit]

Before Eurovision[edit]

Internal selection[edit]

  • Target SMRTV to San Marino RTV on the img text
  • "select their entry" → "select their entry for the contest" but the 2008 similarity is not mentioned by the source
  • Remove wikilink on Eurovision Song Contest 2011
  • Wikilink press release
  • "SMRTV wrote that "as" → "SMRTV wrote, "As" for accurate representation
  • Target Luxemburg and Monaco to their Eurovision articles
  • "The song, a soft rock ballad" → "Senit's song for participation, a soft rock ballad" with the wikilink and target per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • "on both SMRTV and through ESCTV Player on" → "through both SMRTV and ESCTV Player, with the latter being on"

Promotion[edit]

  • "of "Stand By" was" → "for "Stand By" was"
  • "and premiered alongside" → "that premiered alongside"
  • Remove wikilinks on the countries, as that's too obvious
  • "Georgia, and London in the United Kingdom." → "Georgia and the United Kingdom, specifically in London of the latter country." or something similar
  • "on 2 May following" → "on 2 May 2011 after"
  • "and spoke about their" → "speaking about their"
  • "that were competing that year," → "competing that year,"

At Eurovision[edit]

  • Remove wikilink on Düsseldorf
  • Remove wikilink on Germany
  • Remove "at the time" since the rules are still in place now
  • Change the United Kingdom to the UK because you have already mentioned the country by its full name
  • "to the grand final." → "to the final."
  • "of the contest, on" → "of the contest on"
  • "dress by British designer" → "dress designed by British designer"
  • Are you sure [15] is needed when [14] sources everything in the first two sentences?
  • "the broadcaster described the" → "SMRTV described the"
  • Target LED to Light-emitting diode
  • "by Shaun Fernandes," → "created by Shaun Fernandes,"
  • "the United Kingdom's 1993, 1994 and 2002 entries." → "the UK's 1993, 1994 and 2002 entries." with the targets

Voting[edit]

  • "the semi-final and grand final." → "the semi-final and grand final, respectively."
  • "with 34 points: the public awarded San Marino 19th place with 8 points and the jury awarded 8th place with 74 points." → "with 34 points; the nation was awarded 19th place with 8 points by the public and awarded 8th place with 74 points by the jury."

Final comments and verdict[edit]

  •  On hold until all of the issues are fixed, congrats on this though since I noticed it is a definite step-up from your previous GAN! --K. Peake 11:49, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I have made the changes you suggested. What is the archive tool? Typically I would manually find things as the links rot, but is there something automated that you are referring to? Grk1011 (talk) 14:01, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Grk1011 The fix dead links hyperlink under revision history. Also, do a quick read through of the suggestions to make sure you have got everything covered. --K. Peake 14:30, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Grk1011 Nice job with the archiving by now, but you still need to remove the word "annual" in the lead, change "Broadcaster SMRTV had first" to "Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino (SMRTV) had first" since that is what I meant when I said about removing the intro, also change the "and spoke about their" part accordingly and to be specific, you should change "would proceed to the grand final" to saying the final instead. After all these have been done, it should be fine. --K. Peake 17:42, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done! And thanks for the archive tool tip! Grk1011 (talk) 18:08, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Grk1011  Pass now, glad to have everything covered in the very day of my review! --K. Peake 18:38, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
