Notability[edit]

Many of the sources referencing the band appear in lower level music press, but there is sufficient mention in reliable secondary sources - eg. The Age (Melbourne), The Times and Australian Broadcasting Corporation that I believe notability is met. Murtoa (talk) 11:35, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sand Pebbles / The Sand Pebbles[edit]

I don't support the rationale that the name of the band is Sand Pebbles. I have three of their albums and on each the band is called labelled The Sand Pebbles. Indeed the title of one of their recordings is just that "The Sand Pebbles". Additionally, every external reference listed in the article appears to use "the" to preface the name of the band - I can't find one reference that omits "the". The new album, and the band's current publicity material, do not use the definite article. I assume they've dropped the word. BlackCab (talk) 21:24, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nevertheless, Google searchs for two-word title continue to return a fist full of pages for "The Sand Pebbles" in its various non-band role, before the band. I don't think our guidelines have to sanction making war (i.e., meting out punishment, however richly deserved) to those who seem to intend to game our guidelines, but when i find time to use a more flexible interface, i'll rename back the currently 2-word-titled page, to reflect the obscurity of the band. (No cut-and-paste moves, please!)
