Biscay[edit]

Please, stop messing with the province's name. We are trying to normalize the use of Biscay because:

It's english language.
It's widely used.
It is correct by Wikipedia's rules, that say that if an english term is available it should prevail.

So, please read Talk:Biscay before changing it, there's a group of users agreeing that Biscay should be used.

Official name[edit]

The Spanish name "Santurce" has been changed into the Basque name "Santurtzi" in the early eighties, making it the one and only official, and not a double toponym like "Vitoria-Gasteiz". Please take a look at this list, this list and especially at the municipality's official web page, which clearly calls it "Ayuntamiento de Santurtzi".

Anyway, personally I wouldn't recommend using a double toponym at all, even if it's actually the official. Just choose either the Spanish OR the Basque variant for the title and refer to the official one in the article. Really no-one is going to look for lemma's like "Etxebarri Anteiglesia de San Esteban-Etxebarri Doneztebeko Elizatea"

Well, according to the source I've provided, the new change in name was in 2002. It invalidates your first source. The second one talks about names in Basque, not about official names, so it's irrelevant. Finally, the municipality's official web page clearly says, in the presentation page (http://www.ayto-santurtzi.net/presentacion.asp) "Santurce o Santurtzi es un municipio de España, perteneciente a la Comunidad Autónoma del País Vasco, en la provincia de Bizkaia.". Sure, I know that Spanish-speaking people still use the name "Santurce" in daily talk, like "Gerona" is still used for "Girona", but in official documents it's not valid. I believe civil services like Euskaltzaindia, the municipality's website and INEBase are more reliable sources than the Euskomedia encyclopedia. Off-course "Santurce" should at least be mentioned in the article. Regards, TiborNL 18:16, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
