Bendii Syndrome[edit]

I was sent here by a redirect for "Bendii Syndrome". I would find it natural to at least have a paragraph dedicated to it, as I'd say the expression is part of pop culture.

Shatnerverse[edit]

I remember reading in one of the books that William Shatner wrote that Sarek did not actually have Bendii Syndrome, but instead had been poisoned. I added that info to the article, and made it clear that it was non-canon.

Sarek's wives[edit]

The TNG episode "Sarek" established that Sarek's first wife was human - thus he was not married to Sybok's mother. The movie never stated that Sarek and Sybok's mother were married, either. I've modified the page in consequence. -- Ritchy 18:22, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Error[edit]

It says in this article that Sybok is the son of a princess, but in this article that he is the son of a priestess, which one is correct?

Only two sons?[edit]

The article (and nearly all Trekkies) say that Sarek had two and only two sons, Spock is his second son and the first was Sybok, a character utterly unknown until the fifth movie - ST: The Final Frontier - in which his existence (or at least his family relation to Spock) is made known only shortly before he dies. Yet, when old Sarek is brought on board in the TV episode STNG: Sarek, Picard mentions that "I met him years ago, at his son's wedding." We have never been told that Spock was married, even in films and episodes that supposedly postdate the events in The Final Frontier. So, could there have been a son born to Sarek after the events of The Final Frontier; no such son was acknowledged in that movie, so supposedly in the 30 or more years that supposedly separate Kirk's command and Picard's command, Spock had another son who grew up and married (relatively young but about the time that Picard was a rising young officer)??? ¶ On the other hand, is there evidence that Picard's comment was about a marriage of Spock that had otherwise never been hinted at? Star Trek (2009) changes to character-changes to article[edit]

Pronunciation of name?[edit]

I'm pretty sure the IPA in the lead is wrong; I've probably heard /ɛ/ on occasion, but I'm pretty sure /ə/ is overwhelmingly more common, not to mention easier for native English speakers to pronounce. Hijiri 88 (聖やや) 11:47, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
