Spices & Spoiled meat myth[edit]

"Strongly spiced sauces like Savore Sanguino were intended to disguise less appealilng tastes of spoiled meat or long overdue fish - spices were in addition thought to be wholesome and healthy."

The statement above (deleted from the article) is a repetition of an old Victorian myth, and is directly contradicted (with sources) in the article on Medieval Cuisine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_cuisine#Historiography_and_sources
