I also removed the stub definition, as there's nothing more to say about Scarab really. User:schatman

I explanded the overall article, and explained the table which I agree is a bad format. I removed teh attention tag because of this. User:schatman

"In need of attention"[edit]

I've added the "in need of attention" template to this page because, well, it needs some attention. In particular, the table doesn't seem to make any sense to me (as an F1 layperson), and I have no clue what it's supposed to be telling me, so I can't fix it.

Offenhauser engines?[edit]

There appears to be a contradiction between the prose and the table. In the "History" section, it says "The engines in these front-engined cars were 4-cylinder units similar in layout to the Offenhauser, but entirely of Scarab's own design penned by Leo Goossen of Offenhauser, and later Meyer-Drake fame.", meaning the engines were presmably "Scarab"s, whereas in the results table below they are listed as Offenhauser. Mike Lawrence's Grand Prix Cars 1945-65 supports what it says in the "History" section and every source I checked (e.g. formula1.com, grandprix.com and FORIX (subscription site)) list the cars as just "Scarab", not "Scarab-Offenhauser". If nobody provides any conclusive evidence that the engines were Offenhausers within the next 24 hours, I'll update the results table, and any related articles which also say "Offenhauser". I noticed it after these two edits [1] were made to 1960 Formula One season. As I don't have the book cited in this article I didn't want to change it without checking first. Mike Lang's Grand Prix! also lists them as just Scarab. A7V2 (talk) 00:04, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
