This page is very out of date[edit]

Hi - I'm a press officer for scottishathletics and notice that this page is very out of date (looking at the list of sponsors, it's several years out of date). I understand that I shouldn't try to edit it myself due to conflict of interest, so I wanted to flag up how out of date it is, and point to some useful sources for anyone who might be able to update it. Our website has a lot of useful information on it - http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/ and there's more info in our most recent annual report http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/2014_Annual_Report.pdf

I also notice that there is no Wikipedia page at all for jogscotland - this is one of scottishathletics' major programmes: It's a recreational running network (where recreational = running for enjoyment rather than competition) with around 500 jogging groups and thousands of members. There's quite a bit of information on the jogscotland website http://jogscotland.org.uk/.

This recent newspaper article is only about one specific jogscotland group, but if you scroll to the very bottom, under the heading '30,000 runners and counting', there's a useful summary. http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/news/local-headlines/runaway-success-of-st-andrews-group-that-breaks-the-mould-1-3789287

I did at one point write a page about jogscotland, I then went away and spent about 15 minutes gathering citations for notability and verification and when I came back somebody had already speedy-deleted it. I later found out that it was actually rescued in those fifteen minutes and still exists at http://speedydeletion.wikia.com/wiki/Jogscotland so if anyone wants a starting point, it's there to be used. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 13:53, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've just picked up on this, and am working to bring it up to date User:Suegyford Rleyton (talk) 11:15, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Taking on the update[edit]

Per reply above to a very old post, I'm going to take a bit of a tilt at getting this page updated and expanded. I'm a runner in Glasgow, and - for declaration/disclosure - chair of a running club that is affiliated to Scottish Athletics. Rleyton (talk) 11:20, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Squads[edit]

I don't think Scottish Athletics operates this squad system any more. I need to do some research. Kinda suspect it needs to be removed and rewritten with reference to the current development strategy. I'm reaching out for guidance from people locally who might know a bit more or can point me in the right direction. Rleyton (talk) 13:05, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

So, I checked with Scottish Athletics, and the Squad system is no more. So I'll remove that block later today. Rleyton (talk) 10:59, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
