The 4th Wall[edit]

I don't see how Sean mentioning Hell's Kitchen counts as "breaking the fourth wall". Characters on the show often mention "real" TV shows, films, showbiz personalities, etc. Just because a former Corrie actor (Amanda Barrie) was once on Hell's Kitchen does not qualify this as "breaking the fourth wall", which refers to a character directly addressing the audience..... 62.232.55.188 07:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree I think if he mentiond it was that episode it would be Markura 22:30, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Recently' and 'latest'[edit]

These phrases should be avoided as 'recent' events soon become not so 'recent' BenC533 22:53, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moreover, there is a general rule when writing literary criticism that says that, although events may have happened in the past, one should write one’s discussion about them in the present. For example, one would re-write the line,
Sean was involved in a storyline with Violet Wilson and Jamie Baldwin, in which Violet became convinced that Jamie was in love with Sean, only to find that Jamie was actually in love with his step-mum, Frankie Baldwin.
so that it instead reads:
Sean was involved in a storyline with Violet Wilson and Jamie Baldwin, in which Violet becomes convinced that Jamie is in love with Sean, only to find that Jamie is actually in love with his step-mum, Frankie Baldwin.

Friends[edit]

I reverted an edit made by a Wikipedian who has been systemmatically going through Coronation Street characters removing friends and family. This person neither provides a reason in the edit summary nor provides any discussion on the relevant talk pages.

Fan criticism[edit]

Why no mention under reception of the fan criticism often directed at the character?

There are really no reliable sources to back up criticism from fans. If you or someone else could find some journalistic articles to extract from, feel free to add it to the page. Ooh, Fruity (talk) 16:36, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's any number of forums where the character is derided by fans but true these cannot be used as a source. Just thought it was strange that the article makes him out to be some universally liked character when he's more marmite by comparison. :)

Creation and development[edit]

I don't know what these two lines are trying to say: "Cotton also explained that he received fan mail from one 79-year-old saying he's "ace" but said they miss the point. Cotton was also blamed Sarah Platt losing her baby when Sean was yet to be introduced." 216.36.132.66 (talk) 13:29, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
