Sears Hometown is, not was[edit]

I clarified some serious confusion in Wikipedia. Sears Hometown is still open and active, the brand of stores. Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, the company, has been purchased by another company so the Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. is a "was".

My correction is consistent with Wikipedia practices. For example, Wikipedia treats United Airlines as a current company even though United Airlines, Inc. long went into bankruptcy. The current United Airlines was merged with Continental Airlines, with Continental management staying and operating the airline. The Wikipedia United Airlines article is really about the brand name, not the corporate entity. Similarly, this Wikipedia article should at least have prominent coverage of the Sears Hometown brand and not solely be about the corporate entity.

This treatment is reasonable because the old treatment may cause readers to think Sears Hometown no longer exists. I was going to a Sears Hometown today and thought the place was closed because of Wikipedia but find the store is open and active. If Wikipedia is confusing, this harms the public and the stores. It's ok now after my correction. Vanguard10 (talk) 17:23, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion:
@Vanguard10: Sears Hometown (currently a redirect) needs to be separated out as a separate article and expanded with new information about Hometown after its purchase by Transformco since Sears Hometown's former parent Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc. has ceased to exist after being bought out and split up. THIS ARTICLE is about the defunct company. -- 96.64.134.61 (talk) 23:31, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
