People often ask why is The Team based in Gauteng but They use The name Sekhukhune united FC?
The Truth is the Name was adopted from the king of pedi nation Matsebe Sekhukhune as the Team was formed in Ga-Sekhukhune by Ntate Simon Malatji. in an Radio interview He told the Presenter "Kgwele ya maoto etlile Gae" which means Football have come Home in Northern Sotho.
