Trivia[edit]

The wrestler 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson often used this song as his entrance music in Ring of Honor. It maybe worth mentioning? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.134.220.131 (talk) 22:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

it is a rip off of a song from india — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.132.62.183 (talk) 16:13, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds more like Nirvana, to be honest. Pretty sure the song was influenced by them; it has a Teen Spirit-sounding guitar riff and a ¨Yeah¨ chorus like Lithium. FiredanceThroughTheNight (talk) 16:24, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article title[edit]

Why does 'Self Esteem' redirect to 'Self-Esteem' and not the other way round though the song is called 'Self Esteem'? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.132.106.127 (talk) 15:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

De Música ligera[edit]

I have removed a claim about the song sampling the 1990 song De Música ligera by Argentine band Soda Stereo. Though both songs clearly use the vi-IV-I-V displacement of the standard doo-wop chord progression, there is no discernible sampling involved. I assume the person who added that bit of information meant that Self Esteem is a cover of or is inspired by the Soda Stereo song, but even that is far-fetched.

Some more notable examples of this chord progression (and thus, more likely sources of inspiration) are the 1967 song San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) by Scott McKenzie or The Passenger by Iggy Pop from 1977. KovacsUr (talk) 14:17, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
