"Die Mannschaft"[edit]

I have heard of the French "Les Bleus", the Russian "Sbornaya" and the Italian "Squadra Azzurra", but NOBODY in Germany calls any German national team "die Mannschaft" - not in soccer/football, team handball, basketball, hockey etc.

I don't know who first claimed that there was such a term being used among German sports fans, probably some non-German journalist, but it really doesn't matter as it is just some fabrication. I therefore removed this term from the article. Sam Golden (talk) 16:58, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
