Nasr radio interview on Green Majority has new Web address. Please do not delete. Old address is a dead link

Please note that in the Media section at the bottom of the page, the "downloadable interview with Nasr regarding Islam and the environment" is no longer available at the link previously provided, http://besustainable.com/greenmajority/2007/06/15/tgm-37/. This link is dead. Instead, the interview is now available at a Youtube channel, and I have edited the entry to include this new link. Please do not delete. Thank you.

entire conferences in honor of him [1]. --Zereshk 21:35, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
His PhD was on the History of Science in Islam. His title is "Professor of Islamic Studies", not "professor of Philosophy". PBS [2], or The UN selects him as an Islamic scholar, not a Shia one, to lecture on Islam at the UN [3][4], and you give yourself the arrogance to ignore him? His biography alone blows away the accomplishments of all your authors COMBINED.[5] There are entire books written in honor of him [6],
  1. Zora: You are POV pushing BIG TIME, and you know it. You are ignoring what The George Washington University calls "one of the major intellects of our time."[7]

Yes, that's called a festschrift. It's an academic tradition. Many many scholars have had festschrifts dedicated to them.

He still has 500 publications.--129.111.65.45 02:03, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Isnt "Seyyed" a honorific? Shouldent the article be named "Hossein H. Nasr"? --Striver 06:21, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

I agree... I think. The Paul McCartney article is not entitled "Sir Paul McCartney", although we see that both names go to the same place. Is this a similar situation? Striver: where are you getting the extra H. from? I haven't seen it, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. IronDuke 02:22, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

confirmation?

Can anyone confirm whether or not Vali Nasr of the US Naval Institute (author of "The Shia Revival: How Conflicts within Islam will Shape the Future", W.W. Norton, 2006) is the son of Seyyed Hosein Nasr?--129.111.65.80 23:15, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

-- Yes that is the case. Vali Nasr, author of the Shia Revival, is the son of Sayyed Hosein Nasr. If you'd like more evidence than my word for it, watch the two of them speak. The similarities are uncanny. -- November 23rd, 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.198.80.227 (talk) 05:28, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Sayyed Hosein Nasr book cover.jpg

Image:Sayyed Hosein Nasr book cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:55, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Evolution denialism

Should the article mention Nasr's thoroughgoing evolution denialiasm? -- eg in pieces like [8], [9]

It's sad to see such a smart man coming out with such rubbish, shot full of falsehoods. Jheald (talk) 09:10, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Birth date: 1933 or 1939 ?

There is realy big confusion about Nasr birthdate. Check for articles on Nasr in other languages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.103.212.206 (talk) 18:25, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

language skills

Nasr speaks Persian and English fluently. He also has a thorough grounding in Arabic. However, he is not fluent in French. It is doubtful whether he has any knowledge of German. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phainomai (talkcontribs) 04:04, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
