Requested move 3 August 2020[edit]

The result of the move request was: Not moved. The nominator says they oppose the move, and otherwise there has been no input in three whole listing periods, including from the user who supposedly favoured the move in the first place. – I am making this request on behalf of Sparkle1 who boldly made these moves which I reverted and who has indicated they would like to take to RM. I will of course allow Sparkle1 to make their own arguments in favour of these moves. I myself oppose these moves. There is no policy or convention dictating me must not include sponsor names. I feel that WP:COMMONNAME applies. The proposed names are quite novel in that they simply aren't used by reliable sources (or at all) except for the first few years of these championships (before 2007). The name most widely used in the past was simply "Shannons Nationals", eg Speedcafe: [1], [2] (and note this article which suggests that CAMS wasn't involved for some time prior to 2016); Autoaction: [3] (I don't believe their online news goes back far enough for articles from 2012-14). However I would prefer new titles rather than keeping the existing ones, namely moving the 2012-14 articles to 201X Shannons Nationals season, per WP:COMMONNAME, and moving the main article to Motorsport Australia Championships since although the article needs updating, the series has been renamed as of 2020 [4].
