Untitled[edit]

This article is very interesting. Here is a woman who is very accomplished, has spoken a great deal, has written a great deal, has influenced for good the lives of many people- and half of this article is about a little speech she gave and the people who overreacted to it. I have personally heard Sheri speak, and have read many of her books. She has always spoken in very unifying, uplifting, and inspiring terms. It's unfortunate that one misconstrued point from one poorly phrased passage of a speech is the only detail some care to remember about this remarkable woman!

Someone please edit or remove this paragraph: "Other angry bloggers hurled attacks at Sheri, which were completely unrelated to any of her comments. Despite these personal attacks, she never retaliated." The paragraph seems vague, to say the least. It's also sexist, because it refers to Dew as "Sheri".

Requesting that more information be added to Dew's biography. More time is given to one speech than to the entirety of the article's other content. The article appears rather biased by this imbalance. She has given far more than one speech, and there is far more biographical information available than is presented in this article. As far as I can see, most non-LDS-Church-centric sources have only mentioned her in the context of the controversial speech. It looks like there is other bio information from sources published by the LDS Church or Deseret Book, but it's fairly garden variety stuff—birth place, family, positions held in the LDS Church, and so forth. Name of the Church[edit]

It appears there is some wrong information that is perpetuated throughout Wikipedia. The name of the church to which Dew belongs is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It has never been LDS Church. People might have referred to it in this way for a long time, but in order for Wikipedia to stand the test of time and to produce true and reliable information, the name of the church should be used. Regardless of any trends in how people refer to the church, the name of the church will not change and has never changed, so it is always accurate and most helpful to use the name of the church and not a term some people use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zoobaloogle (talk • contribs) 01:32, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As noted in the edit summary where I just restored the prior version (which I just realized includes a general MOS link, not specific as it should have been - sorry), the current consensus, as shown here, this is correct. A discussion would need to adapt that MOS related to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - potentially along with usage across the Latter Day Saint movement, prior to updating this article again.
