Apsley End[edit]

The article previously said

", with only one, Apsley End, being recognised on National Survey maps as a separate village, although it is in fact not"

It is true that Ordnance Survey 1:250,000 maps show the name "Apsley End". But I do not believe this means that they "recognise it as a separate village", just that there is sufficient space on the map to write the name. Their larger scale maps (e.g. [1]) show the names of all the Ends. Google Maps also show the name "Apsley End", but perhaps they just copied the Ordnance Survey. The village website ([2]) only mentions Higham Gobion and Pegsdon when describing the extent of Shillington parish, and the text quoted above says Apsley End is in fact not a village, so I do not see why Wikipedia should treat is specially. Change of name from Shitlington[edit]

"As local lore has it, this name gradually evolved into Shitlington but it was changed to the modern Shillington when a famous monarch visited, some sources say Queen Victoria, others Queen Elizabeth I."

Since it was still being called Shitlington in 1865, it clearly wasn't changed in Queen Elizabeth I's time. Zythophile (talk) 02:15, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is now remedied. Adam37 (talk) 11:57, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "odds and ends"[edit]

The "odds and ends" listed under the Localities section was uncited and is untrue. The edit which introduced this was almost entirely fabricated, I was at school with the author. RowanM88 (talk) 11:39, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
