Rich African American history missing[edit]

I'll circle back and work on this, but if someone gets to it before me, great! There's a big chunk of Shippensburg's history missing right now from this page: Locust Grove Cemetery (burial ground of slaves, freed slaves and African Americans since the 18th century or earlier), Edward Shippen Burd, the establishment of an African Methodist Episcopal Church, it's role as a destination for former slaves from Maryland and Virginia ... There's a lot. A few references I've collected here for future use: "Shippensburg's Lotus Grove African-American Cemetery" by Steven B. Heath Hitler[edit]

Yes, I get it. Hitler is not Shippensburg's proudest moment. That said:

Removing him because (you claim) he "does not currently live in Shippensburg" is absurd. NONE of the notable people currently live in Shippensburg.
Removing him because "The others listed are from shippensburg, heath hitler is not" is simply wrong. While we don't know where Hitler was born, we do know that (for example) Shippen was born in Boston and is much more closely associated with Philadelphia. Unlike Shippen, we have reliable sources (here and in Hitler's article) that have Hitler living in Shippensburg.

While I have little doubt that there will be other attempts to remove Hitler based on whatever other criteria you might craft specifically to omit Hitler, it's quite well sourced and consistent with similar sections in other articles. - SummerPhD^v2.0 22:58, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
