Where did Winton Division get excised from?[edit]

In 1879 all of the state was covered by municipalities and divisions. Therefore the creation of Winton in 1886 must have excised territory from another division. Normally the Qld Govt Gazette contains a group of proclamations, one for the new division and the others amending the boundaries of existing divisions reflecting the introduction of the new one. However, Winton's proclamation doesn't have any accompanying proclamations with boundary changes, so where did it come from? I am guessing it might be Aramac Division from this 1880 newspaper article, although maybe you can interpret it as saying it was in Diamantina Division. Kerry (talk) 04:38, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
